5 minute stretching routine for students and working women

As a college student where is the time for you to work out? Weekdays are spent attending lectures and weekends are busy with assignments and projects. You just grab something to eat and are totally engrossed with studies. The same goes for working women. You’re always in a rush. Hurry to catch a bus or brave the traffic to work place, get back tired in the evening, cook dinner and then crash on the bed. Weekends are spent on buying groceries and cleaning your home. You eat readymade meals or pick up a pizza, as you’re too tired to cook. Eating high calorie (junk) food adds to your weight and soon you find your body bulge. Your clothes become tight and weight becomes a weighty issue.

Stretching is relaxing

Sitting and doing sedentary work is tiresome. Done for a prolonged period of time the muscles shorten and become stiff. It is here that this 5 minute stretching routine will help you to relax. You can perform it anywhere, anytime. Even at your college/work place, stretch in the ladies room and you’ll feel refreshed. It increases flexibility and range of motion in the joints. This is very important for the knee joints as you sit in a chair for long periods of time. Also stretching helps in proper blood circulation to your muscles.  It also improves the elasticity of the muscles so that you attain a good muscle tone.

Healthy for the body and mind

When you perform the 5 minute stretch routine in the morning you feel refreshed and rejuvenated. The blood flows to the brain making you alert and focused to face the day at college/ work. It sharpens your concentration and makes you aware of your environment. In case you perform the stretch routine in the evening, it induces good sleep. Your muscles and mind are relaxed enabling you to have a good night’s sleep. And you do know that it’s very important to lead a healthy life. So get up and start stretching
